And so it started...

Updated: Feb 11

I have always had an appreciation for art, be it a master’s work or street art. Throughout my career as a military musician and then a post-secondary writing instructor, painting, sketching, and drawing were never components of my wheelhouse. However, when I began writing children’s books, I decided to illustrate them myself. Needless to say, I began my endeavors in visual art.

Other than the required art classes in junior high school, I never studied formally as an artist. Some might describe my path as one of trial and error; others might say I was stubborn, just a die-hard do it yourselfer. Regardless, I know I am simply one of the untold numbers of self-taught artists sharing their work with others.
